After a year of a world turned upside down, we proud to invite you to join us for our first ever Justice Conference! PWAP and IJM UOttawa are partnering together to host this conference entirely through Zoom.
As students living in this uncertain world, we have noticed a pattern in the past year. People have been asking more about justice; what is it, what does it look like, and how can we as young students with limited time and money, actually advocate for the injustices that we care about the most? What would be useful? What would be practical? What sort of resources are available to us? We’re with you!
As a result, we’ve reached out to our communities, and the larger Canadian community as a whole, to bring you a two-day conference on Biblical justice, worship and lament, and practical tips from those with lived experience combatting injustice! We would love to have you join us!
Our Friday evening will begin with teaching from Bruxy Cavey, the lead pastor of The Meeting House, followed by a live Q&A session. Cavey will discuss Biblical Justice and how this topic, rooted in the life of Jesus, impacts how we pursue justice in our world today.
Friday evening will close with a reflective concert from Kristen Mark Westwood, a Canadian singer-songwriter, story-teller, and creative collaborator. This time of reflection will allow space to explore the tensions we feel between joy and lament when approaching the work of Justice.
Saturday morning will be full of tangible tips and tricks from people living out local justice initiatives within their community. We will start with breakout groups and move into a panel discussion that discusses how Biblical justice is lived out locally in our day to day lives.
For our conference, choose between three ticket options:
All funds from ticket sales will be split evenly between Voice Found and IJM Canada.
